FGL’s ‘Anything Goes,’ Goes Straight to the Top

Florida-Georgia Line’s sophomore album, ‘Anything Goes,’ shot to the top of the charts when it was released to the public on October 14th. By selling 197,000 copies in the first week, ‘Anything Goes‘ hit the top of the Top Country Album chart  as well as the top of the Billboard 200 chart.

With ‘Anything Goes‘ reaching the top of the Billboard 200 chart, it marks three consecutive weeks for a country album to be at the top of the chart. Before FGL’s new album, Jason Aldean’s newest album ‘Old Boots New Dirt‘ sat at the top of the chart and before that, Blake Shelton’s ‘Bringing Back the Sunshine‘ was number one. The last time that the Billboard 200 chart had back-to-back-to-back country albums at the the top was approximately 4 years ago when Zac Brown Band’s ‘You Get What You Give,‘ Kenny Chesney’s ‘Hemingway’s Whiskey‘ and Toby Keith’s ‘Bullets In the Gun‘ led the list in three consecutive weeks.

Florida-Georgia Line is trying to follow up the incredible success of their debut album, ‘Here’s to the Good Times,’ which has sold a whopping 2.1 million copies and is still on the chart. With first week numbers like these, ‘Anything Goes‘ is on it’s way to battle with ‘Here’s to the Good Times.’ Only time will tell…
