Earlier this morning, country megastar Kenny Chesney officially announced to the world that he would be hitting the road again in 2015. He made the announcement to Robin Roberts on Good Morning America, just before 9AM EST. It was news that we all knew was coming and that we were all waiting for. After a year away from the road, everyone just wanted to hear Kenny say those words.
The Big Revival tour will launch on March 26th, which also happens to be Kenny’s 47th birthday, in Nashville, Tennessee. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate,” he says. “I’ve been ready to get out there for a long time. Now that we’re announced I’m fired up! This new music brings a new energy to the show, and it’s gonna take what we do to a whole other level.”
The tour will make stops in 55 different cities to play various stadiums, arenas, and amphitheaters. Twenty of those shows will be stadiums which will include Gillette Stadium at the of August. UPDATE: Kenny will stop at Gillette Stadium on August 28th with fellow country superstar Jason Aldean!
While no openers have officially been named, reports are that the lineup will often be different in different cities. Early rumors have linked Chris Young and Chase Rice to the 2015 tour. Young also recently released some international tour dates with the first leg ending on March 14th (about a week and a half before the Kenny tour begins) and the second leg commencing in mid-September (about two weeks after Kenny typically ends his summer tour). Does that gap signify that Young may be part of the tour. Maybe, maybe not. We will have to wait and see.
