The 48th Annual CMA Awards are set for this Wednesday, November 5th. The Awards show will be broadcasted at 8PM on ABC. The award categories are full of deserving nominees and can be tough to predict who wins what. But we’ve done our best and predicted who will win. Check out our predictions and let us know what you think in the comments below.
Entertainer of the Year
- Blake Shelton
- George Strait
- Keith Urban
- LUKE BRYAN
- Miranda Lambert
Thoughts: This is always one of the most difficult categories as it features the best of the best. The King may get some votes, but we don’t seem him winning two straight Entertainer of the Year awards. Luke had an incredible year, selling out shows in every city, including a handful of NFL stadiums which is quite the feat in the music industry.
Female Vocalist of the Year
- Carrie Underwood
- Kacey Musgraves
- Martina McBride
- MIRANDA LAMBERT
- Taylor Swift
Thoughts: We’re predicting that Miranda takes this awards as she had the biggest year between the rest of the nominees. Kacey will win this award in the future. Just not yet. Taylor took the year off from touring in the US for the most part. Martina is a fantastic vocalist but didn’t have the tour like Miranda did. Carrie could complete with Miranda but in the end, we think Miranda will come through.
Male Vocalist of the Year
- Blake Shelton
- Dierks Bentley
- Eric Church
- Keith Urban
- LUKE BRYAN
Thoughts: Blake has won four straight, but Luke has a huge year and we think he will take this award.
Vocal Group of the Year
- Eli Young Band
- LADY ANTEBELLUM
- Little Big Town
- The Band Perry
- Zac Brown Band
Thoughts: This should be a tight one as all five have had a great year. We think that the top three in this race will be Lady A, Little Big Town, and Zac Brown Band. But with a great and long tour in 2014, as well as a new album, we’re thinking Lady A will take the CMA award.
Vocal Duo of the Year
- Dan + Shay
- FLORIDA-GEORGIA LINE
- Love and Theft
- The Swon Brothers
- Thompson Square
Thoughts: No offense to any of the other duos in the group, but FGL will run away with this award. Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley have had an enormous year with countless awards, number one songs, and a hit new album. Mix that with a tour with Jason Aldean and the announcement of a headlining tour in 2014, FGL for the win.
New Artist of the Year
- Brandy Clark
- Brett Eldredge
- Cole Swindell
- Kip Moore
- THOMAS RHETT
Thoughts: This will be one of the closest categories, if not the closest. Each artist has had a great year and have been on tour with some of the best. Brandy with Jennifer Nettles, Brett with Keith Urban. Cole with Luke Bryan. Kip with Lady A and Tim McGraw. Thomas with Miranda Lambert. Our gut feeling is that Thomas Rhett will take it, but we wouldn’t be surprised if one of the others took the award.
Album of the Year
- Luke Bryan- ‘Crash My Party’
- Miranda Lambert- ‘Platinum’
- DIERKS BENTLEY- ‘RISER‘
- Eric Church- ‘The Outsiders’
- Keith Urban- ‘Fuse’
Thoughts: Dierks’ ‘Riser‘ was our favorite album this year from top to bottom. The album was more than just his hit song, ‘Drunk On a Plane.’ If you haven’t listened to the album in it’s entirety, go do it. You’ll see why our choice is ‘Riser‘ for Album of the Year.

- Eric Church- ‘Give Me Back My Hometown’
- Kacey Musgraves- ‘Follow Your Arrow’
- Lee Brice- ‘I Don’t Dance’
- Miranda Lambert- ‘Automatic’
Thoughts: Lee Brice is close behind our choice for Song of the Year, but we think Dierks will take the CMA for ‘I Hold On.’ The song has a lot of meaning to it and it resonates with fans across the country.
Single of the Year

- DIERKS BENTLEY- ‘DRUNK ON A PLANE’
- Eric Church- ‘Give Me Back My Hometown’
- Miranda Lambert- ‘Automatic’
- Tim McGraw (featuring Faith Hill)- ‘Meanwhile Back at Mama’s’
Thoughts: Dierks, again. ‘Drunk On a Plane’ was a massive hit this year. it was a number one hit and recently surpassed the one million sales mark.

Thoughts: Yes, Dierks again for us here at NECM. The video is hilarious. Plain and simple. The video has nearly 13 million views on YouTube and many people even dressed like the pilot from the video for Halloween. Like this lil guy.
