July 2, 2016 – Annie Brobst
Annie performs in duo, trio and full band form all over New England, where she debuts her newest original projects and her own spin on a variety of her favorite cover songs. She engages every audience and instantly gets them singing and dancing to her music!
She’s had the wonderful opportunity of opening for country stars such as: Gretchen Wilson, Eli Young Band, Lee Brice, Joe Nichols, Phil Vassar, Craig Campbell, Casey James, Jaida Dreyer, Thompson Square, Krystal Keith, Dustin Lynch, and J.T. Hodges. And even opened for legends like Don McLean and Marshall Tucker Band! She’ll also be performing at the Topsfield Fair this fall and is set to open for 4 more national acts this year, including Darius Rucker!
Most of her original songs are stories from her life, with a consistent Pop/Country sound; although genre mashing has been known to happen once or twice. ‘Ghost,’ specifically, describes her journey from Columbus, OH to the Boston, MA area, while ‘Between Words’ came from a poem she wrote in grade school about what happens in the spaces between words on a page. ‘Write Me A Song’ was inspired by performers she’d seen in Nashville, playing live music day in and day out just to survive.
July 30, 2016 – Casey Derhak
Casey Derhak is a national touring artist based out of Nashville, TN. Casey’s rhythmic music is the type of music you can’t get out of your head, with well-crafted lyrics and insane rhymes. It is a no wonder why people are gravitating towards him, and what he calls his ‘Deep South Sweet Sound.’ Casey has also christened his musical style as flow country which makes perfect sense when you hear his ability to shoot rapid fire lyrics on top of up-tempo beats!
Casey was born on Pease Air Force Base in Portsmouth, NH. He spent a few years as a small child in the granite state, before the family moved down south to Jupiter, FL. The energy and intimacy of the small beach town has influenced and shaped his musical heritage. There was always music being played at the Derhak household. Casey’s dad, John, was a novelist who also played the acoustic guitar, and Casey’s Uncle Robert is the bassist/vocalist for rock jam band Moe. After dabbling in piano and sax at a very young age Casey then started learning guitar when he was thirteen.
At the same time, Casey was also an accomplished high school and college baseball player with twin passions in songwriting and baseball. He pursued both talents his whole life. “It has been pretty easy for me in terms of knowing what I want to do in life. I have only ever wanted to do two things and that’s play baseball and make music,” says Casey. Over the next decade Casey played college baseball at USC-Aiken, while honing his talents as a songwriter and musician. Eventually he came to the cross-roads, and had to choose one. Casey explained “It was the hardest decision I ever had to make. I just saw all my friends in the minor leagues having no control over their careers, so I decided I would put everything into music instead of playing pro-ball.”
Casey began playing the bar circuit in South Florida developing his sound, but it wasn’t long before Nashville beckoned knowing that’s where he belonged. “You can’t be a pro surfer and live in Oklahoma,” laughs Casey. Casey now calls Nashville home, and has been working hard to climb his way up through the ranks. He has a huge catalog of music, and has already had the pleasure of many other artists cutting his material as a songwriter. He has even had songs placed on TV and radio. Casey’s first EP ‘Deep South Sweet Sound‘ came out on June 3rd (you can get it on iTunes here). “It took me a long time to figure out my sound and who I was as an artist but now I know exactly what I want and everything is just perfectly falling into place,” says Casey. One thing is for sure, and that is there are no other artists in Nashville that sound like Casey. Look out world!
August 27, 2016 – Kevin Herchen
Born and raised in Rhode Island, was recently named the winner of the 2015 WPRI Rhode Show Big Break Contest. The video of his song ‘Stronger’ aired on this past season’s American Idol finale. He has played shows in Nashville, Chicago, Phoenix, Long Beach, and all over New England and was named to Nashville’s Songwriter’s Association Ones to Watch list.
September 3, 2016 – Alec MacGillivray
Twenty-two-year-old former college football player Alec MacGillivray has burst on to the country scene in the last year. His high energy live show brings a party atmosphere to each stage that he plays on. Sharing the bill with other stars such as Florida Georgia Line, Keith Urban, and Thomas Rhett, Alec is quickly becoming one of Nashville’s ones to watch.
September 24, 2016 – Lance Carpenter
Nashville recording artist and professional songwriter Lance Carpenter pens hits of contemporary country radio, while still staying true to his traditional background. Growing up on a farm in Ozark, Arkansas, Lance taught himself how to play guitar while attending Arkansas Tech University where he was a member of the 1999 Conference Championship Wonderboy football team. The footballer turned lyricist moved to Nashville, TN in 2011 and in 18 short months signed his first publishing deal and secured two major cuts. Lance, however, remains true to his laid-back country boy persona and has continued to astound with the work ethic and humbleness that determined his early successes. He says, “The more success I have in this business the more significant I can be in the lives of others.” He released his debut self-titled debut album in 2013 and has performed with Toby Keith, Luke Bryan, Justin Moore, Colt Ford and more. Lance currently writes for Parallel Music Publishing and plans to continue writing music that inspires, memorializes and captures his own zest for life.
“Not only have I known Lance Carpenter since before he even made the official move to Nashville, but I’ve watched him progress as a songwriter and performer into something that country music needs to hear. When he performed for a sold out crowd at The Listening Room, he put on an energy-packed performance with songs like “I Know Jack” but then you could hear a pin drop with emotionally moving songs like “Notches,” which just so happens to be one of my favorites. It’s very nice to hear true, great music on stage and with Lance Carpenter you can bet you are getting just that.” -Chris Blair, owner of The Listening Room Café, Nashville TN
