With the start of 2018 in the books, it’s getting to that time when artists make announcements of different sorts. New albums, new tours, new singles, etc. And Dierks Bentley is kicking it off as he has been teasing something on social media over the past few days. Some cryptic videos have been posted on his social media accounts- videos of the incline of a mountain and another of someone (most likely him) walking through the outdoors.

Now something is definitely in the works as the homepage of his website is a blank screen that has a button for tour dates. But clicking it simply takes you to his already announced tour dates. However, most artists don’t have a landing page for their websites unless something is happening and something definitely is. Also, if you open his website in a browser with multiple tabs, the tab for his website is labeled ‘DB2018.’ If that doesn’t scream ‘tour,’ we don’t know what does!
So it’s fair to assume that he is going to be announcing tour dates in the near future. We already know that he is playing at Gillette Stadium in August as direct support for Kenny Chesney, so that means he won’t be playing at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA this summer. But he could still play at other New England venues such as the Xfinity Theatre in Hartford, the Bank of NH Pavilion in Gilford, NH and/or Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor, ME.
But there’s also the chance that his announcement revolves around new music! His last 4 studio albums have been released in 2 year intervals. ‘Up On The Ridge‘ was released on June 8, 2010. ‘Home‘ was released on February 7, 2012. ‘Riser‘ was released on February 25, 2014. And ‘Black‘ was released on May 7, 2016. With it now being 2018, if Dierks follows his recent pattern of album releases, there’s a good chance that the announcement is a new album.
There’s also a chance that it could be both- a new album and a coinciding tour to go with the album! We expect for the announcement to come relatively soon, even as early as Monday. As soon as we know the announcement, we will be sure to share with all of you!
