And We’re Not Happy About It.
In November of 1999, Toby Keith released ‘How Do You Like Me Now.’ The single would climb the charts all the way to the Number One position on the charts- becoming Toby’s fourth Number One single.
In case you live under a rock, New England is set to be slammed with the 4th Nor’easter of the month which will bring anywhere from a few inches to nearly 2 feet in some places of New England. This storm has been named Winter Storm Toby by the National Weather Service… Something that Toby Keith saw and pointed back to that 1999 Number One in a single tweet…

We usually love you, Toby Keith. We do. You’re one of the country icons. A great songwriter. A great entertainer. But right now, we don’t. And it’s just because of this storm set to hit us this week that happens to be named Toby. If it was Winter Storm Tony or Travis or Tyler or even Todd, and we wouldn’t have an issue with you, Toby. You can thank the National Weather Service for this. But we’re ready for summer. We’re ready for beach days and concert nights- red solo cups in hand at both; I’m sure you can appreciate that, right!? We’re done with the snow for the year. We really wish Winter Storm Toby wasn’t a thing because the last thing we want to see is more snow.
We’ll revisit our relationship when this snow melts. I’m sure we’ll love you again- it’s hard not to. But give us some time. We just need a break.
