Singer and songwriter Kane Brown is paving his way to stardom. His debut album launched in December, he currently has a new single out, and he has a huge tour coming up with Jason Aldean. Brown had an interview with NECM to talk about all of his triumphs and his new single.
Brown’s self titled album came out in December of 2016 and served as an autobiography to himself – “it lets people know who my role models are, where I grew up and what kind of music I listen to.” Off of the album is his newly released single, ‘What Ifs,’ featuring Lauren Alaina. The song was chosen to be a single based off of its sales. “There was really no strategy behind it,” Kane said, “we just picked whatever song was doing the best and just rolled with it.” Lauren Alaina was chosen to feature on the track because Kane and her go way back. “We were in choir together and she’s really what got me started.” Brown talked very fondly of Alaina in saying “I love her voice. It just added to the song and multiplied it 10 times.”
To follow up his first album release, Brown is joining Jason Aldean and Chris Young on the They Don’t Know Tour – which makes New England stops in Providence, RI on May 18, and Uncasville, CT on May 19-20. Brown intends to play “in your face music to get the crowd pumped for Jason and Chris… I have to make those minutes count.” Brown toured with Florida Georgia Line last summer and really bonded with the duo. “The boys of FGL taught me a lot last summer and my band has improved a lot.” When asked how it feels to be touring with some of the biggest names in country music, Brown responded with “these are two sets of artists I wanted to tour with the most, so it’s pretty cool that they’re my first major tours.”
Brown’s thoughts on all his newfound success left him with a loss for words – “it’s wild and so crazy it’s happening. I’m excited and can’t wait to see where it’s going.” To make sure it continues, he intends to keep doing exactly what it is that he’s doing! “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I feel like we’re out there pretty good. We’re gonna keep pushing music sales and grow our fan base.”
Kane took the time to thank his fans: “I just want to say thank you… I wouldn’t be able to do this without you guys.”
