For Eric Paslay fans, the wait for new music is finally over. On March 2nd, Paslay released ‘Young Forever,’ the lead single off of his upcoming sophomore album. Co-written by Morgan Evans, Chris Destefano, and Eric Paslay himself, this song has a fun, anthemic feel that makes you want to roll your windows down, turn the volume up, and sing along to every word. The catchy, upbeat rhythm is sure to have concertgoers up on their feet and dancing. Paslay has been searching for a song that rivals the success of his biggest hit ‘Friday Night,’ and this could definitely be it.
‘Young Forever’ is full of nostalgia. It takes us back to the days of our youth when life was much more simple and carefree. Not yet having the responsibilities of adulthood, we could run wild and free around town with our friends. The lyrics paint a picture of growing up with the mindset that the world is full of endless possibilities. This can be seen in the lines, so much faith we could walk on water, we were on top of the world, shooting stars lighting up the boulevard, proud small town boys and girls, wide open roads and unbroken hearts.
It’s safe to say that at some point in our lives we’ve all shared in Paslay’s wish to remain young forever. While, unfortunately, that’s not physically possible we can always remain young at heart, especially with a little help from music. Eric Paslay echoed this sentiment by turning back the clock when he wrote ‘Young Forever.’ He explained that, “It captured the joy, the dream and the hope that made me fall in love with music when I was a kid and it reminds me, every time I play it, why I keep falling in love with music over and over again.” The song’s optimistic nature and good vibes certainly do make it easy to fall in love with. With the release of this spirited new tune to country radio and a new album in the works, the future looks very bright for Paslay.
In what is currently his only scheduled New England appearance, you can catch Eric Paslay at Mixx 360 in Malden, MA on Friday April 6th.
