Sam Hunt Drops New Music On NYE

Just shortly after midnight, on New Year’s Eve, Sam Hunt appropriately released a new song called ‘Drinkin’ Too Much.’ While millions of people around the world were probably drinking too much with it being New Year’s Eve, Sam’s devout following got this special treat from the artist who hasn’t released new music since his wildly successful 2014 ‘Montevallo‘ record.

The new single appears to be an apology to his one-time ex-girlfriend who was the inspiration behind much of his music and the 2014 record. The first verse includes the lyrics ‘I’m sorry I named the album Montevallo. I’m sorry people know your name now and strangers hit you up on social media. I’m sorry you can’t listen to the radio…‘ Our favorite lyrics come shortly after… ‘I know you want your privacy. You’ve got nothing to say to me. But I wish you’d let me pay off your student loans with these songs you gave to me.

While we know many country ladies who would gladly be the woman of Sam’s life and the inspiration behind his music, it appears that the woman, Hannah Fowler, may have accepted Sam’s apology as the two has been photographed together in Hawaii in September and as recently as December in Israel.

There are two versions below including an acoustic version, which we prefer. Give it a listen and let us know what you think.
