Mitchell Tenpenny: ‘Someone You Loved’ Single Review

Mitchell Tenpenny is an American country singer/songwriter, born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. Mitchell is most known for his first chart topping single in 2018 called ‘Drunk Me’ followed by his second single in 2019 called ‘Anything She Says.’

On May 1st, Tenpenny released a cover song that many of you have probably already heard. Mitchell has been staying active on his social media live accounts over the past couple of  weeks and when he covered a snippet of this song, the reaction was overwhelming and he decided to release a studio version. The original pop hit was called ‘Someone You Loved’ by United Kingdom native, Lewis Capaldi.

Mitchells husky voice is one of a kind and it showcases just how vocally talented he really is in this song cover. With the start of the song slow, just showcasing a piano, followed by his powerful voice slowly after. The song’s lyrics talk about losing someone you loved and being blind sided by them when they least expect it. As the song comes to a close, Tenpenny puts his own spin on the song that differs just slightly from Capaldi’s original version.

The released cover comes after Mitchell’s April 10th newly released single ‘Here.’ An easy flowing and up beat positive vibe song that makes you smile as you sing along to it. You can catch Mitchell on one of his many facebook live events known as  #TenpennyTuesdays.
