Major Kenny Chesney News for 2017

Kenny Chesney’s reps confirm to Rolling Stone Country that he will not be touring in 2017. After playing to more than 120,000 people at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, the superstar wrapped his massive Spread the Love tour last month to yet another round of record numbers. He’s now on a break from the road, as he readies his ‘Cosmic Hallelujah’ album, due out October 28th. And as of right now, the singer is only plotting a handful of gigs in support of the new music — and not a full tour.

One of those shows is also in support of a cause very important to him. Chesney is set to headline the 2017 Tortuga Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida. Set for April 7th-9th, the event will include performances by dozens of country, rock and roots acts on waterfront stages. It also features Conservation Village, a place for environmental organizations to set up shop, educating people about the dire need for ocean conservation and marine research. The festival works with the Rock the Ocean Foundation to increase awareness of various issues affecting the world’s oceans and what can be done to help. Since its 2013 inception, the Tortuga Music Festival has donated $300,000 to its Conservation Village partners.

The full lineup of 2017 Tortuga performers will be announced in the coming weeks. This will be Chesney’s third time headlining the giant beach party.
