Last night, we were lucky enough to be invited to the Grand Opening of Loretta’s Last Call. Loretta’s is located right at the corner of Lansdowne Street and Ipwswich Street, near Fenway Park. The location used to hold La Verdad, but the Lyons Group took over that space and country-fied it! The decor is perfect, very Nashville-esque- a sense of Nashville dive bar with a mix of sophistication. The walls are adorned with concert posters and items from country icons such as Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Carrie Underwood, and Jason Aldean. An old school jukebox is a focal point near the ‘Washrooms’ but not an overwhelming one.
From Mamma’s Sweet Tea to the Hibiscus Kiss, the drinks were great. Passed appetizers were just as good. From perfectly-cooked medium rare steak on buttery golden biscuits, to pimento grilled cheese sandwiches with bacon to fried lobster grit cakes, Loretta’s has a spectacular menu to go with their spectacular location and decor.
The city of Boston has been waiting for a country bar like this. You no longer have to wait for ‘country night,’ because’s it’s always country night at Loretta’s Last Call.
