For years, country music fans have been yearning for a country music presence at the Super Bowl. We have a number of incredible artists in the genre who have the capacity to headline stadiums and do so. So why not have country music play at the Super Bowl!?
Well, this year, there WILL be a country music star performing. Luke Bryan, the multi-award winning country artist, will be performing the National Anthem at Super Bowl LI in Houston on February 5th. While it may not be the halftime show, it is something. Maybe we’re getting closer to having a country halftime show (Cough, Kenny Chesney, NFL).
Now let’s just hope that our hometown New England Patriots will be there for that game. Luke would have something to wear, if so…
