Chris Young’s Losing Sleep Tour is Worth Staying Awake For!

A sold out country crowd packed the Tsongas Arena in Lowell on February 1st for the Losing Sleep Tour with LANco, Kane Brown and headliner Chris Young. Fans arrived early and packed the arena for when LANco hit the stage. They played songs off of their new album ‘Hallelujah Nights’  which was just recently released on January 19th. They happily introduced their new single ‘Born to Love You.’ Brandon Lancaster, the lead singer, ran enthusiastically into the crowd with a single drum as they played their title track. Fans rushed to gather around Brandon as he played from on top of a chair. LANco knew their audience as they spoke about the Patriots and their excitement for the upcoming Superbowl LII. They ended their set with their first number one hit, ’Greatest Love Story.’ As the guitar played the first few notes everyone was on their feet ready to sing along. “Thank you for showing up early and changing our lives with this song.”  LANco left the stage and everyone was warmed up for Kane Brown.

By the time Kane Brown hit the stage, every seat in the arena was full. Everyone was on their feet as Kane began to sing. He started his set with ‘Used to Love you Sober’ which was “the song that started it all.” Kane had everyone up and dancing as he played some covers of his favorite songs growing up. “Does anyone remember what an iPod is? These were my most played songs on my iPod,”  he said as he played his renditions of popular 90’s songs like  ‘Billionaire,’ ‘(Sorry) Ms. Jackson’ and ‘Over my Head.’ Kane drew the crowd in with his dance moves and captivated them with his deep voice. He was very humbled to be playing for a sold out crowd. “We wouldn’t have jobs if it weren’t for y’all. Without y’all we’d have nothing.”  He thanked fans for support and thanked country radio for playing his songs including his new single ‘Heaven.’ Kane talked about his struggles growing up in a small town in Georgia said that everyones gone through something. As he began to play ‘Learning,’ he jumped down from the stage and walked the perimeter of the floor. Everyone ran to high five Kane as he stopped with fans to take pictures. He returned to the stage to close out his set by playing his first Number One song, ‘What If’s’.

The lights dimmed, the band hit the stage and everyone was screaming for headliner Chris Young. “Fingers crossed this will soon be my tenth number one and its all your fault,” Young exclaimed as he opened his set with his most recent single ‘Losing Sleep.’ He then played his first ever hit on the radio, ‘Gettin’ You Home.’ Chris Young was excited to be kicking off the northeast part of the tour in Lowell. He reminisced about playing last year at the Lowell Auditorium. “Now I’ve sold out a venue nearly three times the size and that’s your fault. Get used to hearing thank you because I’ll be saying it all night.”

‘Lonely Eyes,’ ‘Voices’ and ’Tomorrow’ are just a few of the many Chris Young hits that were played. “Drinks are like potato chips, you can’t just have one,”  Chris joked before he played ‘Aw Naw.’ In between songs, Chris made jokes, laughed and thanked everyone for coming. “Where are all my single people at? Well, sorry this song isn’t for you,” Chris playfully said as he played ‘Who I Am With You.’  He played some of his favorite songs off of the recent album ‘Losing Sleep’ which debuted at Number One. Young also reminisced on his recent induction to the Grand Ole Opry before he sang ‘Sober Saturday Night’ that features Vince Gill.  Vince was the first concert he ever went to as a child and he was surprised and excited when Vince asked him to join the Opry family. This has been the highlight of his career, so far.

“This is so insane and so cool and its all because of you. The reason I get to do this and bring Kane and LANco here, is all because of you,”  he told the crowd before talking about how the first ‘gigs’ he ever had were playing four hour acoustical shows at a Mexican restaurant in Nashville every Saturday night while he was in college. He said as much as he loves playing with a full band,  he’ll always love acoustic sets. Chris Young’s voice and a guitar filled the arena as he mesmerized us with a sample of his acoustic set. He welcomed his band back on the stage and introduced each talented musician that he has been playing with for years. His encore song was his smash hit ‘Think of You.’ It was a treat as he sang along with a video clip of Cassadee Pope accompanying him. “Thank you for that song. And thank you for selling this place out on a Thursday night.”  LANco, Kane Brown and Chris Young were a great way to get the weekend started. The Losing Sleep Tour is a must see if its coming to a venue near you!
