Chris Lane: ‘Fix’ Single Review

Fans who are already familiar with Chris Lane’s music may be a little surprised to hear the singer’s new single, ‘Fix.’ With this song, Lane explores a new sound, influenced by R&B and Pop vibes, which he hopes will help separate him from what other Country artists are doing. The North Carolina native grew up the average music fan, listening to all different kinds of music. He felt that all the music he’s always loved is infused in this song, which is one of the reasons Chris was so drawn to it.

Lane has always been attracted to songs that make you want to dance, songs that simply feel good, and ‘Fix’ is just that. It’s ridiculously catchy and almost impossible not to move to. The title of the track refers not to fixing something that is broken, but the slang definition – satisfying an addiction. This is obvious with lyrics like, “That favorite habit, gotta have it, you can’t quit, I got your fix.” The song is essentially about Lane trying to convince a girl to be with him instead of another guy. “Hey girl, you know what you been missin’? Me,” he sings in the opening line. The song starts off slow and builds up to the chorus, which has a melody that’s sure to get stuck in your head.

While the song is fun and perfect to jam out to with the top down, it also showcases Lane’s incredible vocals with high falsetto parts, which he executes flawlessly. The song was written by Sarah Buxton, Jesse Frasure, and Abe Stoklasa, and as soon as Lane got in the vocal booth, he knew it was the perfect song for him. Not only was he set on cutting this track, but ‘Fix’ changed the direction of Lane’s entire EP. As the lead single, ‘Fix’ sets the tone for what fans can expect from the singer, and if it’s any indication of what’s to come, we can’t wait to hear the full EP.
