NETN Presents ‘From Boots To Roots’

New England to Nashville (NETN), New England Country Music (NECM) and 95.9 WATD are teaming up to bring ‘From Boots to Roots; to Loretta’s Last Call (right behind Fenway Park) this Sunday at 5PM. NETN is known for putting on country shows featuring the best New England songwriters and artists, and this is their first multi-genre event, showcasing that their membership had incredible talent in not only country, but rock, pop, bluegrass, americana and more!

The event will feature acoustic rounds including:

The Jandee Lee Porter Band will back the artists on full band covers of artists like Johnny Cash, Jake Owens, the Rolling Stones and John Prine after they each play their acoustic originals in Nashville writers round style. Jandee Lee Porter Band is also the headlining band at Loretta’s later in the evening (9PM) if you want to see them play a mix of bluegrass and country originals and covers.

Matt Casey, founder of NETN says, “we are really excited to show how NETN has so much talent country music and beyond and to help the students at MCPHS help finance their trip to Nicaragua to help those in need of medical care there.

The event will be a fundraiser for the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS University). PA students traveling to Nicaragua with the Non-Profit FNE-International to provide medical service work. These PA students are the pioneers of medical service work done in the clinic of the small community, Chacrasecra. They will not only be providing medical care, but will also be going into the local schools to provide health education sessions. Donations will be used for travel expenses for the students, as well as medical equipment and supplies needed in the clinic.

Local independent music has always been a major part of WATD since it’s inception in 1977. What you’ll be hearing at this event is the future.
