Blake Shelton’s new and highly anticipated album, ‘Bringing Back the Sunshine,’ is set to hit stores later this month, on September 30th. And starting today, fans can pre-order the album on both iTunes and his official online store and by doing so, they will automatically get the first single off the album, ‘Neon Light.’ Blake also released the track listing today which can be found below. The 12-song album features Ashley Monroe, who is a member of the Pistol Annies with Blake’s wife, Miranda Lambert. The album also features a song with up-and-coming country artist, RaeLynn, who some may know as season two contestant of NBC’s The Voice, and was ‘coincidentally’ part of Blake’s team. RaeLynn also worked with Blake on his 2013 single, ‘Boys Round Here.’ This album sounds like it’s a more realistic point of view of life and not as positive as his last few albums. Blake tells Rolling Stone Country:
“The whole album is searching for parts of me that I think have… not gotten lost along the way, but stuff that I haven’t addressed in my music as much as I used to, whether it’s drinking songs, heartbreak songs or songs about how people treat you. Things like that. “My last couple of albums have been so positive, because when I made them I was just getting married. It’s been in this awesome place,” he says. “But after a while, as a country singer, I gotta get back to singing about getting drunk because there’s people out there — and I’ve been one of them — that have had their heart broken, or they’ve had a tough day at work, or they get stabbed in the back.”
Blake released their first single off the new album a few weeks ago. That song ‘Neon Lights,’ shows that change of attitude and theme in Blake’s album as it discusses life after a tough break-up and the small glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.
“There’s a neon light at the end of the tunnel/It ain’t all that bright, but even though it’s subtle/It’s got me feeling alright, go on and make it a double/There’s a neon light at the end of the tunnel.”
