Benefit to Help Bring Musicians on Call (MOC) To Boston to Be Hosted by Loretta’s Last Call July 28

On Thursday, July 28 at 6PM, Loretta’s Last Call in Boston will host a benefit concert featuring some of the best singer/songwriters in New England. The goal of the event is to raise funds to bring Musicians On Call, a nonprofit that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities, to Boston.

Musicians On Call (MOC) was founded in 1999 with the mission of bringing live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities ranging from children’s hospitals to adult facilities, VA hospitals and hospices. MOC currently brings the healing power of music to patients in 20 cities including New York, Miami, Nashville, Dallas, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Denver, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Denver, San Francisco and Atlanta. MOC has also just reached the milestone of playing for half a million patients, families and caregivers and launched its Half A Million Moments Campaign. By delivering live, in-room performances to patients undergoing treatment or unable to leave their beds, they add a dose of joy to life in a healthcare facility. MOC supporters over the years include Bruce Springsteen, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Antebellum, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran, Reba, Gavin DeGraw, Darius Rucker, Pharrell, Amos Lee, Nick Jonas, Newton’s own Rachel Platten and many more. For more information, visit http://www.musiciansoncall.org.

The event will feature songwriters/artist from New England to Nashville (NETN). Since it’s conception in 2012, NETN has grown to over 800 songwriters and artists based in or connected to New England whose artistic efforts are focused on the Nashville music scene. Artists will be performing acoustic originals in Nashville round format and then their favorite cover songs from all genres, backed by a full band. The event is being managed and promoted by NEON Music Management and New England Country Music. Performers will include local artists Caroline Gray, Molly Kupris, Haley Chic, Timmy Brown, Lauren Weintraub, Jimmy Connor, Kevin Harchen, Emily Hodges and Brianna Grace, who is co-hosting with New England to Nashville co-founder Matt Casey. Lance Carpenter, NETN member, #1 Hit Songwriter (‘Love Me Like You Mean It’ by Kelsea Ballerini) and longtime MOC volunteer musician, is coming up from Nashville to perform and will also be fronting an encore full band show after the event.

The lead sponsor of the event is Country 102.5, Boston’s #1 For New Country. Working with Musicians On Call in Boston is a natural extension of the programs Country 102.5 WKLB has been involved in using the power of music to uplift patients at local hospitals including the Country Music Healing Tour, a program to bring leading country music artists to perform and meet with young patients and their families at Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center.

Boston will be MOC’s 21st City once the program is launched. Proceeds of this fundraiser will be allocated to launch MOC’s Bedside Performance Program in area hospitals this fall. Pete Griffin, Musicians On Call President said, “We’re thrilled to have the support of New England to Nashville, WKLB Country 102.5 and all of our amazing local Champions. We can’t wait to see all of these talented musicians come together to help us bring the healing power of music to Boston.”

Tickets can be purchased here. (All proceeds go to Musician’s On Call Boston Launch Initiative)
