Impression: Nearly every country album has some song or reference to a small country town but there has not been one that has done it with the sound or captivation of Zac Brown Band’s new single ‘Homegrown,’ which is the first single off their fourth studio album that will be released later this spring. The Zac Brown Band is already kicking off this new album with an absolute hit which only excites their rabid fan base even more. Their last album, ‘Uncaged,’ yielded two number one singles; however, each of their first two albums both yielded four number one singles. It appears the band is already on the fast track to more number ones with ‘Homegrown.’
The melody is catchy and the chorus is even more catchy. ZBB keeps it simple in the song, nothing complicated, but that’s exactly what he’s describing- a simple hometown with his friends, his wife, and a fire down by the riverside. There’s no mentions of big name alcohol companies or pick up trucks. Just the simple things that made Zac Brown who he is and what made him ‘Homegrown.’
Favorite Lyric: I got some good friends, that live down the street. Got a good lookin’ woman with her arms ‘round me…
