New Year’s Eve is just about a week away. It’s always a night to plan for as there’s always something going on wherever you are. But maybe you can’t decide, maybe you need some help. NECM is here to help you with 3 ideas for any country music fan.
1.) Travel- If you can swing it, head to Nashville for New Year’s Eve for one helluva celebration as much of downtown Nashville is shut down for the night. The Jack Daniels Music City Midnight party takes place at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park and instead of a giant ball drop, they drop into the New Year with 15-foot tall music note slowly drops 145 feet ending with fireworks and confetti. How can it get better? How about live performances from Keith Urban, Maren Morris, Carly Pearce and more!?
If you can’t swing Nashville, it’s only a short car/bus/train or even flight from New England to NYC. And who doesn’t want to go to Times Square for NYE!? I mean, it’s a huge bucket list item for nearly anyone. This year, country music duo Sugarland (yes, SUGARLAND- they’re back!) will be performing live in Times Square.
2.) Party At A Honkytonk- Country bars have popped up around New England but a favorite is always Loretta’s Last Call in Boston right on Lansdowne Street. Their NYE ticket includes dinner, champagne toast, balloon drop and live music!
UPDATE: Since the release of this story, tickets for the NYE party at Loretta’s Last Call are SOLD OUT!
3.) Stay home- There’s nothing wrong with it. Let’s face it, it’s gonna be cold. And if you’re not one for crowds and would rather hang out in the warmth and comfort of your own home in your PJ’s, there’s nothing wrong to it. Sugarland’s performance will be broadcast on national TV and Kane Brown is also performing in Los Angeles, which should be broadcast as well. Crack open that jar of shine and ring in the New Year from home.
